DERA ISMAIL KHAN: On the instructions of RTA Secretary Shaukat Iqbal, monitoring teams of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dera Division launched a special operation against overcharging and over-seating on various transport routes.
During the campaign, several public transport vehicles were inspected and passengers were asked about fixed fares and travel facilities. Legal action was taken against vehicle owners and drivers found violating transport regulations.
The teams also inspected ticketing counters at Dera and Karachi bus stands to review compliance with approved fares, ticket issuance procedures and passenger facilities. Staff were directed to ensure strict implementation of government tariff lists.
Secretary RTA Shaukat Iqbal said protecting passengers’ rights and eliminating overcharging and over-seating remain top priorities of the authority, adding that action against violators will continue without interruption.
