PESHAWAR: A delegation led by Awami National Party Provincial Joint Secretary Hamid Khan Toofan called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House Peshawar to discuss the political situation, public issues and the promotion of sports in the province.
The delegation included Arshad Khattak, Majeed Khattak, Saghar Nadeem and Darya Khan of the Kashmir Premier League. During the meeting, participants discussed measures to promote positive activities among youth, develop sports infrastructure and encourage cricket across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that engaging youth in sports is the need of the hour and that the provincial leadership is taking practical steps to promote sporting activities.
He noted that cricket is one of the most popular sports among the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that the province possesses immense cricketing talent which deserves proper opportunities and support.
The Governor announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champion League will be inaugurated soon, providing talented young cricketers from across the province with an excellent platform to showcase their abilities and advance their sporting careers.
The delegation appreciated the Governor’s interest in youth development and sports promotion and expressed hope that new initiatives would help nurture emerging talent in the province.
