ISLAMABAD: A new initiative aimed at empowering young women through technology and digital skills development was launched at Silicon Village, Pakistan’s largest technology park and a flagship Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) zone.

The launch of TecHerForward was attended by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker and members of the U.S. Embassy Pakistan team, who were welcomed by organizers and stakeholders associated with the initiative.

The program, being implemented in collaboration with Stewart Pakistan and Alight, seeks to equip young women with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to pursue successful careers in the technology sector through the Zaha Hadid Skills Program.

Speaking on the occasion, participants emphasized the importance of creating pathways for women to enter and lead in the digital economy. They noted that initiatives such as TecHerForward are helping bridge the gender gap in technology by providing practical training, mentorship and career development opportunities.

Organizers highlighted that the program is designed to transform skills into confidence and confidence into leadership, enabling young women to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s growing technology ecosystem.

The launch reflects ongoing efforts to promote digital inclusion, women’s empowerment and innovation-driven growth, while strengthening partnerships between public and private sector stakeholders committed to advancing Pakistan’s technology landscape.
