PESHAWAR : The Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has welcomed the provincial government’s decision to release Rs 2.1 billion for operationalizing the Children’s Hospital affiliated with the Khyber Institute of Child Health (KICH).

PPA leaders thanked the Chief Minister, Health Minister, Finance Advisor, and Health Secretary, saying the funds would help make the hospital functional soon and provide children with modern diagnostic, emergency, and specialized healthcare services.

The association described investment in children’s health as an investment in the nation’s future and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting KICH through professional collaboration, capacity building, and evidence-based child health policies.

Leaders of the Islamic Doctors Forum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Professor Dr. Muhammad Habib Khattak, Professor Dr. Javed Nawab, and Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Ayaz, also welcomed the decision and expressed support for the PPA’s position.

Medical experts expressed hope that the timely utilization of funds would enable the hospital to become operational soon and improve healthcare services for children across the province and surrounding areas.
