MARDAN: Candidates on the waiting list for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police recruitment have appealed to the provincial governor and Inspector General of Police (IGP) to give them priority in the proposed recruitment of 5,000 police personnel, in accordance with merit and recruitment rules.
Addressing a press conference at Mardan Press Club, the candidates said the recruitment advertisement was issued on December 26, 2025, and they had successfully completed all stages, including physical tests, computer-based tests and interviews. However, they had not received appointment orders and were placed on the waiting list.
They expressed concern that some candidates were approaching the upper age limit, warning that further delays could deprive them of future government employment opportunities.
The candidates urged the governor and IGP to consider eligible waiting-list candidates in the upcoming recruitment on merit and under the applicable rules. They also called for an early decision on their pending appointments to end uncertainty about their future.
