PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of development projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2025-26, directing the concerned authorities to accelerate work and ensure the timely completion of all approved schemes.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Asif, the Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Director Works, Director Youth Affairs Abbas Afridi, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, participants conducted a detailed review of the progress made on development projects approved under ADP 2025-26. The adviser was briefed on the status of ongoing schemes, implementation challenges, and measures being taken to complete projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand instructed officials to resolve all land-related issues affecting development projects in close coordination with the respective district administrations and elected public representatives. He stressed that unnecessary delays should be avoided so that work on the projects could continue without interruption.
The meeting also decided that a special visit to the Malakand Region would be undertaken on Wednesday. During the visit, the Secretary Sports, relevant departmental officials, and public representatives from Swat will review the progress of ongoing development schemes and discuss ways to remove any obstacles to their implementation. The adviser also directed officials to ensure that all concerned members are informed in advance about the visit.
The participants also reviewed the progress on the construction of eight modern futsal grounds in the merged districts. Expressing satisfaction over the pace of work while calling for further acceleration, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand directed the concerned authorities to complete the project at the earliest.
He said the provincial government is committed to providing modern and quality sports facilities to the youth, adding that investment in sports infrastructure is essential for promoting healthy activities, discovering new talent, and encouraging greater participation in sports across the province.
The adviser reiterated that all development projects should be completed within the prescribed timeline and in accordance with quality standards to ensure that people receive the maximum benefit from public investment.
