ISLAMABAD: Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, hosted a dinner reception at his residence in honour of Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Muslim world.

The OIC Secretary-General was accompanied by Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki Ambassador of saudi arabia. The reception was attended by senior government officials, parliamentarians and members of the diplomatic corps.

Ambassador Mustafa bin Talah and Shamroz bin Talah welcomed the guests on their arrival. Diplomats from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Libya, Mauritius, South Africa and Laos were among those present at the gathering, which provided an opportunity for interaction on issues of mutual interest and cooperation among OIC member states and friendly countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Talha Mahmood warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and underscored the importance of unity and closer collaboration among Muslim countries to address regional and global challenges. He appreciated the OIC’s role in promoting solidarity, peace and cooperation across the Islamic world.

The evening was marked by cordial discussions and exchanges between the OIC Secretary-General, diplomats and senior Pakistani officials in a friendly atmosphere.

At the conclusion of the dinner, Senator Talha Mahmood presented a commemorative souvenir to Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha as a token of respect and friendship. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph and renewed expressions of goodwill, reflecting Pakistan’s continued support for the objectives and mission of the OIC.
