PROVINCE REPORT

MOSCOW: Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has expressed concern over the escalating situation in the Persian Gulf, warning that continued military exchanges are causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure in Iran and several Arab countries.

In a statement, Zakharova said the growing tensions have increased the risk of disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, posing serious challenges to regional mediation efforts and threatening global energy and food security.

She urged all parties to exercise restraint, avoid actions that could widen the conflict, and support efforts to resolve differences through political and diplomatic means.

Reaffirming Russia’s commitment to a peaceful settlement, Zakharova said Moscow remains ready to assist initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting dialogue in the Middle East.
