PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, and K2X Tech (Private) Limited have signed a five-year strategic partnership to promote digital health, Artificial Intelligence (AI), modern healthcare technologies, research, innovation and technology-driven solutions in the health sector.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by KMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq and K2X Tech Chief Executive Officer Dr. Amir Saeed. K2X Tech Chairman Dr. Tahir Riaz joined the ceremony online from Denmark.

Director ORIC Dr. Zohaib Khan, Additional Director ORIC Dr. Zeeshan Kabir and Director KMU Business Incubation Center (KUBIC) Wasim-ul-Haq were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq said modern technology and AI could play a vital role in developing innovative, effective and cost-efficient solutions for the healthcare sector.

He said stronger collaboration between KMU and industry would help translate research into practical applications while creating new opportunities for students, researchers and young entrepreneurs.

Dr. Amir Saeed said K2X Tech would work with KMU to develop digital health platforms, advanced health information systems and AI-based solutions to address emerging healthcare needs.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on joint research, development of innovative products and solutions, technology commercialization, training and promotion of new healthcare-related business ventures.

Through KUBIC, emerging startups will also receive mentorship, technical support and opportunities to connect with potential investors, further strengthening the university’s role in promoting healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship.
