PESHAWAR: Third-year medical students of Peshawar Medical College, accompanied by their Head of Department and teaching staff, visited the Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassaemia and Hemophilia Centre on Monday.
Medical Officer Dr. Tayyaba Waheed briefed the students about the foundation’s humanitarian services. The students visited various sections, including the Digital Blood Bank and laboratory, and interacted with thalassaemia patients and their parents.
The Hamza Foundation provides screened blood and blood products, iron-chelation medicines and food free of cost to around 70 to 80 thalassaemia and hemophilia patients daily. The organisation operates entirely through public donations.
The students and faculty appreciated the foundation’s welfare services and took keen interest in its digital blood bank and laboratory facilities.
