PESHAWAR: The first meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter of the Nutraceutical Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (NMAP) was held at a local hotel in Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Central Chairman Mr. Danish Khan, Patron-in-Chief Malik Tariq Mahmood, Executive Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Kakakhail, Executive Member of the Association Qazi Murad, former parliamentarian Nasir Khan Musazai, President of KPPMA Imtiaz Khan, and other prominent representatives associated with the nutraceutical industry.
The meeting discussed in detail the issues faced by the nutraceutical industry, product registration procedures, regulatory matters, exports, and the overall development and promotion of the industry.
Addressing the meeting, Faisal Kakakhail welcomed the participants and highlighted various challenges being faced by the nutraceutical industry. He said that the industry is particularly facing difficulties due to the existing rules and regulations for product registration and the complicated registration process. He demanded that the registration system be made simpler, transparent, and industry-friendly so that the local nutraceutical industry can grow rapidly and Pakistani products can achieve a stronger position in international markets.
Central Chairman of the Association Danish Khan, while addressing the meeting, said that the Association is knocking on every relevant forum and every door to resolve the problems of the industry. He said that the government has now realized that the export potential of the nutraceutical sector is greater than that of the pharmaceutical sector, and therefore, the government should provide further facilities and incentives for the development of this sector.
He said that the Association had been registered with DGTO only one month ago, but despite this short period, it has already achieved several important milestones. He announced that more positive developments and good news for the nutraceutical industry would emerge very soon, and significant progress is expected regarding the resolution of industry-related issues.
Danish Khan emphasized that the most important need at present is unity and solidarity. He urged all nutraceutical manufacturers to remain united on a single platform to address their common issues. He said, “Our strength lies in our unity, and only through collective efforts can the legitimate demands of the industry be effectively presented before the government.”
The participants expressed their commitment to continue joint efforts for the development of the nutraceutical industry, resolution of registration-related issues, promotion of exports, and elimination of other challenges faced by the industry.
