PESHAWAR : A team of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, Regional Office Peshawar, headed by Regional Head Mr. Muhammad Qasim Jan, conducted a detailed inspection of passenger facilitation arrangements and the One Window Facilitation Desk (OWFD) at Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, on Tuesday.
The delegation arrived at the airport at 11:00am and was received by the Airport Manager, A/CSO Deputy APM and representatives of the concerned government departments.
The inspection began at the International Departure Briefing Area, where the Airport Manager briefed the delegation on passenger security screening, joint search procedures and other measures being taken to facilitate travellers. The team also visited the NADRA office established in the departure area.
The delegation then inspected the One Window Facilitation Desk, including complaint registers and arrangements for receiving and addressing passenger grievances. The Deputy Director FIA subsequently briefed the Wafaqi Mohtasib on the functions and responsibilities of the FIA at the airport and the procedures adopted for passenger facilitation.
During a visit to the International Departure Lounge, the Wafaqi Mohtasib interacted with passengers and sought their views about the prevailing procedures, available facilities and any difficulties they might be facing.
The delegation later visited the International Arrival Area, where the Airport Manager briefed the team on arrival procedures, including health screening, baggage reclaim facilities and the functioning of baggage conveyor belts. The team also reviewed the overall arrangements for passenger facilitation in the arrival area.
The Wafaqi Mohtasib appreciated the overall cleanliness and upkeep of Bacha Khan International Airport. He particularly praised the well-maintained horticultural arrangements, including greenery, planters and landscaping, saying these contributed positively to the appearance and environment of the terminal building.
The delegation expressed satisfaction with the overall passenger facilitation arrangements and appreciated the efforts of the airport management and relevant departments in maintaining services for passengers.
The visit concluded with a meeting at the Airport Manager’s office, where matters concerning passenger facilitation, complaint resolution and the overall functioning of the airport were discussed. Refreshments were later served to the visiting delegation before its departure.
