MARDAN: Samson’s Agri CEO Faiq Shah has called for modernization of Pakistan’s livestock and meat industry to boost exports, create jobs and strengthen the rural economy.
Speaking to the media, he said Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has huge livestock potential but needs modern slaughterhouses, FMD-free livestock facilities, veterinary laboratories, cold-chain networks, Halal certification centres and advanced meat processing units.
He urged the KP government to establish meat processing and export zones and offer incentives to local and foreign investors. He said the province’s proximity to Afghanistan, Central Asia and Gulf markets could help make KP a major Halal meat export hub.
Faiq Shah stressed that strong public-private partnerships, modern technology, disease control and investor-friendly policies were essential to transform the livestock sector into a modern export-oriented industry.
