RASHAKAI: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Industries and Commerce, Humayun Khan, inaugurated the mobile phone manufacturing unit of CHOGURI I-TECH PVT LTD at Rashakai Special Economic Zone.
The company manufactures mobile phones under the Faywa Mobile brand.

The Advisor visited the Zone Management Office, where he received a detailed briefing on the zone’s development progress, enterprise status, investment and employment.
Prior to the inauguration, the Advisor toured Rashakai Special Economic Zone accompanied by Chief Executive Officer KPEZDMC, Shaharyar Gul. During the tour, he viewed upcoming industrial units and was apprised of the industrial activity taking place in the zone.

He later visited CHOGURI I-TECH PVT LTD, where he was received by the management of the enterprise. The Advisor inaugurated the mobile phone manufacturing unit, toured the facility and received a briefing on the company’s investment, production plans, employment and future expansion.

According to the company profile, the unit has been established on two acres with a stated investment of PKR 750 million.
The company currently employs between 150 and 200 people and plans to create up to 2,000 jobs as its operations expand.

The company plans to expand its product range over time to include laptops, notebooks, robotics, network equipment and satellite-related technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Humayun Khan said that the establishment of new manufacturing enterprises and the operationalization of industries at Rashakai SEZ are important for strengthening industrial activity and creating employment opportunities in the province.
He said local mobile phone manufacturing can contribute to skills development, technology transfer, reduced dependence on imports and future export potential.
He said the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains committed to facilitating serious investors and supporting industrial production in the province. 22 enterprises are in progress, with estimated investment of approximately PKR 68 billion and expected employment of nearly 3,000 people, reflects Rashakai SEZ’s growing contribution to industrial development and economic activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Employment in the zone is expected to increase further as additional enterprises become operational.
Abdullah Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Choguri I-Tech, appreciated the support and facilitation extended by KPEZDMC in establishing the enterprise at Rashakai Special Economic Zone. He said, “We look forward to expanding our operations, creating employment opportunities and contributing to the industrial growth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.

CEO KPEZDMC,Shaharyar Gul, said KPEZDMC would continue to facilitate enterprises in the economic zones through investor facilitation and coordination with the concerned government departments. He said the focus is on supporting enterprises in becoming operational, addressing investor issues and enabling industrial activity that generates employment and contributes to the provincial economy.
The ceremony was attended by Member of the Pakistan National Assembly Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan and also KP Provincial Assembly Members including Mr. Zar Alam Khan, Mr. Abdul Salam Afridi, Mr. Iftikhar Mashwani, Member of the BoD KPEZDMC Mr. Adil Nawaz, senior Government officials and business community.
Rashakai Special Economic Zone is one of Pakistan’s major industrial development projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The zone is intended to attract investment, support manufacturing and create employment opportunities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) is mandated to develop and manage economic zones across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, facilitate investors and promote industrial development in the province.
