ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is scheduled to conduct the second hearing on September 28, 2026, in a writ petition challenging the suspension of pensions at the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
According to legal and institutional sources, the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and the PSB administration are expected to submit their written replies and reports regarding the suspension of pension payments.
During the hearing, counsel for the pensioners is expected to seek immediate interim relief and an order for payment of outstanding pension arrears.
The petitioners are expected to inform the court that the prolonged withholding of pension payments has created serious difficulties for elderly retired employees and their families. The Action Committee has claimed that an elderly retired gardener died following a cardiac arrest and that several other pensioners are receiving medical treatment for serious health complications while facing financial difficulties.
The petitioners are expected to urge the court to direct the authorities to release the outstanding pension payments, reportedly covering three to four months, to provide immediate relief to retired employees and their families.
The Action Committee has expressed confidence in the judiciary and urged the court to consider the hardship being faced by pensioners and issue appropriate directions for the release of their outstanding dues.
