PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forests, Environment, Wildlife, and Climate Change, Pir Musavir Khan on Tuesday said practical steps are being taken for the development and prosperity of the people of the province. He announced that a timber auction will soon be held in the Chakdara Timber Market, which will create new employment opportunities for the local Community. He expressed these views while speaking with delegations from Chitral and other districts at his office here. The delegations informed the Special Assistant about their issues. Some problems were resolved on the spot, while for others, directives were issued to the officials for timely resolution. Speaking with the delegation from Chitral, Pir Musavir Khan stated that instructions have been issued to the relevant authorities for the early auction of timber in the Chakdara Timber Market. He said that the auction will benefit not only the government but also individuals associated with the timber business and local residents. He also assured the delegation of a swift resolution of other issues. Later, while speaking to other delegations, Pir Musavir Khan said that the provincial government believes in practical measures. He highlighted that a “Green Budget” has been presented for the fiscal year 2025-26. Billions of rupees have been allocated in the budget to make the province greener and to tackle the impacts of climate change. He further emphasized that special attention is being given to public welfare sectors such as health, education, and others. Stressing the importance of tree plantation, the Special Assistant appealed to the public to plant as many trees as possible during the upcoming monsoon plantation campaign.
