JAMRUD A dignified ceremony was organized at the Department of Sociology, University of Peshawar, in connection with World Teachers’ Day, with a large number of students and faculty members in attendance. The event was organized in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Youth Affairs.
The chief guest was Meritorious Professor Dr. Johar Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar.
The ceremony highlighted the vital role of teachers in society and in shaping the personalities of young people. Speakers emphasized the importance of students’ intellectual and moral development alongside formal education. They said that a teacher does not merely impart academic knowledge but also plays a key role in guiding students, building their character, and shaping their future.
During the ceremony, students paid tribute to their teachers in recognition of their valuable contributions. Shields and certificates of appreciation were also presented to students who participated in various activities and to teachers who rendered outstanding services.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, teachers and students reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their efforts for the promotion of education, positive values, and the better development and guidance of young people.
