PESHAWAR: The Excise & Taxation Office-II Peshawar has achieved property tax recovery of Rs. 77 million during September, exceeding the prescribed target by Rs. 9.5 million.

A target of Rs. 67.5 million had been fixed for September, against which the Excise & Taxation Office-II recovered Rs. 77 million, achieving approximately 114 percent of the assigned target.

In light of the directions of Sayed Ul-Amin, Director Peshawar Region, a review meeting regarding property tax recovery and the assigned target for September was held under the chairmanship of Excise & Taxation Officer-II, Touseef Khan.

The meeting reviewed in detail the recovery position, assigned targets and the performance of the concerned officers and field staff.

ETO-II Touseef Khan appreciated the performance of the officers and field staff and directed them to maintain the same commitment and hard work for revenue collection.

He further directed that effective measures for the recovery of outstanding property tax dues be expedited.

Meanwhile, on the special directives of Director Peshawar Region Sayed Ul-Amin, ETO-II Touseef Khan, along with the concerned officers, held a meeting with the Managing Director of the Small Industries Development Board (SIDB). The meeting discussed outstanding property tax dues, the current recovery position and related matters in detail.

During the meeting, the Excise authorities briefed the Managing Director on outstanding property tax liabilities and the recovery situation.

Matters relating to timely payment of tax dues, issues being faced in the recovery of arrears, availability of relevant records and other related matters were also discussed.

ETO-II Touseef Khan said that the Excise & Taxation Department is taking practical measures to make the tax system more effective, transparent and result-oriented across the province.

He said that timely recovery of government dues not only contributes to an increase in provincial revenue but also plays an important role in providing financial resources for public services and development activities.

It was agreed during the meeting that coordination and mutual cooperation between the Excise & Taxation Department and the Small Industries Development Board would be further strengthened for the recovery of outstanding property tax dues.

The participants also discussed expediting the recovery process through timely exchange of relevant records and necessary information.

The Managing Director of the Small Industries Development Board assured the Excise & Taxation Department of full possible cooperation and support in the recovery of outstanding property tax dues and other related matters.
