PESHAWAR: Sundus Akbar, an MPhil scholar at the University of Peshawar’s College of Home Economics, has successfully defended her thesis on dietary diversity, food security and the health of lactating mothers in District Swabi.

Supervised by Dr. Fazia Ghaffar, the research highlighted nutritional deficiencies and food security challenges faced by mothers. The viva voce was supervised by Prof. Dr. Shazia Ghulam Muhammad, while Dr. Abbas Khan of the University of Haripur served as external examiner.

The study stressed improved access to nutritious food and targeted healthcare interventions to promote maternal and infant health.
