PESHAWAR: Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has strongly condemned the brutal murder of a married couple in Balochistan in the name of so-called honour, calling it an inhumane, barbaric, and criminal act.
In his official statement, the Governor said:
“The killing of innocent lives in such a manner is absolutely unacceptable. It is a grave violation of human values and social justice.”
He emphasized that incidents of this nature are contrary to the principles of humanity and social morality, and that the state must take strict legal action against the perpetrators.
Governor Kundi urged that all individuals involved, including members of the jirga responsible for sanctioning the act, should be brought to justice without delay. He called on the Balochistan government to ensure the immediate arrest and strictest punishment of those responsible, in accordance with the law, to help prevent the recurrence of such heinous crimes.
He further stated:
“It is the duty of religious scholars and responsible individuals from all walks of life to stand against such dangerous and inhumane ideologies and play an active role in raising awareness.”
