MARDAN: A high-level meeting on mass plantation was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Mardan Division, Nisar Ahmad. The meeting besides Deputy Commissioner Mardan Wasif Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Fahad Iftikhar, Eid Nawaz Sherani and traders’ leader Zahir Shah was also attended by officers from Pakistan Railways, NHA, Forest, WSCCM, TMAs, MDA and other relevant land departments. ADC F&P Swabi attended via Zoom.
The meeting deliberated on the implementation of the mass plantation program in Mardan Division in line with the directives of the provincial government. Key decisions were made regarding the program’s rollout.
Commissioner Nisar Ahmad instructed the concerned departments to develop and implement a detailed plan for planting a large number of shady trees along both sides of the important N 45 Mardan Nowshera road from College Chowk to Bab e Mardan Rashkai. He directed that the execution of the plantation work must begin within one week. Commissioner Mardan also chaired a meeting regarding the celebration of Independence Week from August 7 to August 14 along side Maaraka Haq. He directed the district administrations of Mardan and Swabi to chalk out a comprehensive plan for celebrating the independence week in a befitting manner. Nisar Ahmad stressed to organize plantation and sporting events besides speech and other competitions to pay homage to the martyrs of Independence struggling and those of Maaraka Haq.
