PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kabaddi Association has announced the schedule for trials to select boys’ and girls’ teams for the upcoming All Pakistan Youth Games, scheduled to be held next month at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA).

According to the announcement, under-16 boys’ trials will take place on August 16 at Qayyum Sports Arena, Peshawar, while under-18 girls’ trials will be held on August 17 at Government Girls City College, Gulbahar.

Provincial Kabaddi Association Secretary Syed Sultan Bari stated that a comprehensive strategy has been devised to select the most talented players to represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Youth Games. For the boys’ trials, the selection committee will be headed by Association President Arbab Naseer Ahmad Khan, with members including Adalat Khan, Mohib Ullah, and Malang Jan.

All players participating in the trials must bring Form-B, domicile certificate, photographs, and a copy of their CNIC, Sultan Bari emphasized. Similarly, the girls’ selection committee will include Arbab Naseer Ahmad Khan, Najma Naz Qazi, Gul Sanober Ikhlas, Saadia Gul, and Sadaf Sher.

Highlighting the association’s grassroots efforts, Sultan Bari said,

Our goal is to form strong teams that can achieve success at the Youth Games. We have already started Kabaddi training camps and tournaments at educational institutions across Peshawar Division to hunt for emerging talent. The results so far have been very encouraging.

The upcoming trials mark a significant step toward developing a new generation of Kabaddi players and ensuring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s strong presence in the national arena.
