Islamabad: ( Staff Reports ) The Islamians Library and Information Science Alumni Association (ILISAA), Federal Chapter, successfully conducted its elections for 2025 at the Department of Libraries Islamabad, under the guidance of Director General, Sheikh Mohammad Arshad. The elections saw active participation from library professionals across the twin cities, marking a significant moment for the association and its members.

Finance Secretary: Mr. Zahoor Ahmad, Manager, Information Services Department, Riphah International University
Vice President (Unopposed): Mr. Mohammad Shahid Amin, Librarian, Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad
General Secretary (Unopposed): Mr. Nasir Khan Abbasi, Head Librarian, Air University, Islamabad
Information Secretary (Unopposed): Mr. Kashif Kamal, Chief Librarian, Fazaia Library – Fazaia Bilquis College of Education (W), PAF Base Nur Khan
The elections were overseen by the Election Committee, comprising Iqrar Ahmed Sheikh, Fayyaz Ahmed Bukhari, and Muhammad Afzal, ensuring a smooth and transparent process. A total of over 60 institutions from Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the elections, highlighting the commitment of library professionals to the growth of library and information sciences in Pakistan.
The newly elected office bearers are expected to play a key role in strengthening the association, fostering professional development, and advancing the interests of the library and information science community in the region.
