Peshawar: Prof. Dr. Raza Sultana, a renowned scholar and senior educationist, has said that the universities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can play a vital role in improving the governance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The universities play as a bridge between the people and the government. Along with the education and training of the youth, it is the primary responsibility of universities to keep them engaged in productive activities and provide them with employment opportunities for their better future. Universities should lighten government’s burden in this way. Of course, this is not possible without government’s cooperation, but if the project is sent to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, they will undoubtedly support it. She expressed these views while addressing a local organization’s webinar.
Addressing the youth, Prof. Dr. Raza Sultana said that this era is of digital advancement. In this era, every young man who has the passion to do something will succeed. She said that it is better to hire someone else than to prove their iron in the Small Scale industry and play their part in empowering other youths like themselves. The current government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a representative government of youth, the youth should take full advantage of it while the universities should take full advantage of them. She said that I have spent a long time at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University as Vice -Chancellor where I had the opportunity to work closely with the youth. On the basis of my experience, I say that there is no dearth of talent in the province’s youth. They just need good guidance to run in the right direction and it is the responsibility of the universities to provide them with the required guidance.
