Fakhar Jehan Meets Bereaved Families

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jehan, made an emergency visit to the flood-hit areas of District Buner early Saturday morning, where he directly supervised the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the severely affected locality of Beshunai.
On the occasion, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Member National Assembly Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and MPA Riaz Khan also accompanied him.
The Provincial Minister met with the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in the devastating floods and expressed his heartfelt condolences and solidarity with them.
He reaffirmed that the government would not leave its people alone in this hour of trial, adding that all available resources were being mobilised for the immediate relief and rehabilitation of the affected population.
The Minister further stated that the rescue operation was being monitored on ground, with joint participation of volunteers, Rescue 1122, police, district administration and other line departments, while efforts were underway to recover those reported missing.
He said that helping the flood victims was the foremost priority of the government and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was also personally monitoring the situation and remaining in constant contact.
Later, the Provincial Minister along with the PTI Chairman visited Pir Baba Bazaar to assess the losses suffered by shopkeepers due to the flash floods.He assured them of the government’s full cooperation and support in their rehabilitation.
Syed Fakhar Jehan said the provincial government stood shoulder to shoulder with the people in this difficult hour and would not abandon them under any circumstances.
The Minister also visited other affected areas along with Advisor to Chief Minister on Health, Ehtisham Ali and apprised him of the damages caused by the floods.
Earlier, the Provincial Minister chaired an emergency meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner Buner. The meeting was attended by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman Abdul Kabir Khan, MPA Riaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kashif Qayyum, DG Rescue 1122 Tayyab Abdullah, DPO Buner and other concerned officials.
The meeting reviewed the relief and rescue activities in detail and decided to further accelerate operations to ensure timely assistance to the affected families.
Provincial Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan reiterated the government’s firm commitment to take all possible measures for the immediate relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims, stressing that no one would be left alone in this testing time.
