ISLAMABAD:A prominent business figure and former president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Shahid Rasheed Butt, on Sunday praised China’s steadfast backing during recent tensions with India. He described Beijing as Pakistan’s most reliable and time-tested ally, asserting that the growing friendship between the two nations has transformed into an unbreakable strategic bond.
In a press release, Shahid Rasheed Butt highlighted the evolving geopolitical landscape in South Asia, stating that China’s timely and multifaceted support, encompassing political, diplomatic, and military dimensions, has once again reassured Pakistanis of its enduring friendship. He emphasized that China’s proactive stance has not only strengthened Pakistan’s defense posture but has also acted as a stabilizing force during a period of heightened regional instability.
He observed that India’s belligerent activities, including cross-border aggression, provocative military drills, and hostile rhetoric, have dangerously increased tensions in the region. While Pakistan has consistently advocated for peace, it remains fully prepared to counter any act of aggression with full force. China’s prompt and clear support for Pakistan’s sovereignty has served as a symbol of hope and reassurance during these troubling times.
Shahid Rasheed Butt criticized India for its failed attempt to divert global attention from Israeli atrocities in Gaza. He referred to an alleged false-flag operation staged by New Delhi, which backfired and led to increased international scrutiny of India’s actions. The incident not only failed in its objective but also resulted in diplomatic isolation for India.
According to him, this misstep has caused severe damage to India’s international credibility and sparked unease within its political circles. The episode has raised growing concerns over the future of the ruling BJP government and Modi’s confrontational foreign policy.
Meanwhile, the bond between China and Pakistan continues to deepen. Strategic initiatives, such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), are a testament to this alliance’s potential to drive regional development and cooperation. Despite repeated attempts by India to derail such initiatives, CPEC is moving forward and promises economic prosperity for the entire region.
Butt noted that cooperation with China extends beyond economics. The two nations regularly coordinate on matters of security, technology, and regional diplomacy. This multidimensional relationship serves as a model for peaceful coexistence and mutual growth, particularly in an era when global alliances are shifting rapidly and unpredictably.
He urged the international community to take a clear stand against India’s war-mongering and provocations. The need of the hour, he said, is to promote peace, stability, and constructive dialogue in South Asia, not aggression and unilateral actions.
He also condemned individuals within Pakistan who are spreading rumors and disinformation during such critical times. He described such acts as betrayal and stressed the importance of internal unity when the nation faces external challenges. He called for decisive action against those trying to disrupt harmony and national morale.
Shahid Rasheed Butt reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace but emphasized that the country stands ready to deliver a decisive and unforgettable blow to any aggressor. Any misadventure against Pakistan, he said, will not only be repelled but will also become a part of history as a lesson for those who seek confrontation over cooperation.
He concluded by reiterating that Pakistan, with the support of its trusted allies and the resolve of its people, is capable of overcoming any threat. The China-Pakistan partnership, rooted in mutual respect and shared interests, remains a pillar of strength in a region increasingly marked by volatility and unpredictability.
