Islamabad – In a prestigious ceremony celebrating human rights and bilateral cooperation, the French government has officially conferred the prestigious National Order of Merit (Knight’s rank) upon Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq. Currently serving as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Children’s Rights and the National Coordinator for the Polio Eradication Campaign, Ms. Farooq was recognized for her relentless dedication to the welfare of children.

The French Embassy hailed this “high French distinction” as a testament to Ms. Farooq’s “unwavering commitment to human rights, particularly in the critical sectors of education and health.” This honor not only acknowledges her personal achievements but also highlights the successful synergy between Pakistan and France on shared global priorities. The Embassy further noted that Ms. Farooq has been a “leading figure” on whom they have consistently relied to champion Franco-Pakistani cooperation, solidifying a partnership dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable.
