Kohat: Senator Shamim Afridi, in an urgent press conference held at Kohat Press Club today, stated that his son, former Federal Minister Abbas Khan Afridi, was not killed in a gas leak accident, but rather martyred in a targeted bomb blast planned through a conspiracy. He has demanded a transparent, independent, and impartial investigation through a Joint Commission into the incident.
Senator Shamim Afridi said:
“The gas leak narrative is not ours. No institution has contacted us to date. We demand a fair and impartial investigation. If justice is not served, I will go to every possible extent for my son.”
He added that Shaheed Abbas Khan Afridi served his people and nation selflessly without holding any official position, and now, after his tragic death, an atmosphere of fear and silence has spread throughout the region. The public is in a state of unrest, while the concerned authorities remain completely silent.
Senator Afridi urged the relevant institutions to immediately contact the bereaved family and reveal the truth to the public without delay so that justice can prevail.
