Nowshera: On the special directives of the Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sara Tawab conducted a surprise visit to Risalpur Cantt and nearby markets to review the implementation of the official price list and ensure compliance by shopkeepers.
During the visit, she inspected various shops and reviewed the prices of essential food items, overall cleanliness, and the display of official rate lists. Shopkeepers were directed to strictly adhere to the government-notified prices and ensure the availability of quality items to consumers at fixed rates.
Several shopkeepers were issued warnings for not prominently displaying the official rate lists, and they were cautioned that strict legal action would be taken in case of future violations.
The district administration reiterated that providing relief to the public remains its top priority, and profiteering, hoarding, and overcharging will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Continuous monitoring of markets will be ensured to safeguard consumer rights and maintain price control.
