Bajaur — Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam paid a one-day visit to Bajaur, where he met with flood-affected families and expressed solidarity with them. He offered condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and spent time with the affected households.
Amir Muqam announced that the federal government would provide Rs. 2 million in financial assistance for each deceased victim’s family, while assuring that a separate relief package for the injured and those whose houses were destroyed would soon be introduced.
He praised the resilience and sacrifices of the people of Bajaur, saying, “These people were displaced back in 2008, and today once again they face natural disasters, yet their courage remains unbroken. The role played by the Salarzai tribe in restoring peace is saluted not only by the state but by the entire nation.”
The minister further said that the government would not abandon the victims and would continue to stand by them in every moment of difficulty. On this occasion, he also announced the dispatch of special vehicles for cleanup and rescue operations in flood-hit areas, as well as the establishment of a new NADRA center to facilitate those displaced by past operations.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Merged Districts, Mubarak Zeb Khan, former MNA Shahabuddin, and a large number of elders from the Salarzai tribe were also present and welcomed the government’s announcements.
