PESHAWAR: A colourful ceremony was held at Government Girls Primary School Chughul Pora, where SDEO Madam Maryam Rasheed attended as the chief guest.
The annual function featured a variety of performances by students, including speeches, national songs, tableaus and other presentations showcasing their talent. Students also set up science model displays, while teachers supervised cultural and food stalls. A PT show by the students was widely appreciated by parents and teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, Madam Maryam Rasheed commended the school for organising an impressive event, noting that both students and teachers had demonstrated exceptional dedication. She praised the overall performance of the school and stressed that the children possessed immense talent.
She said teachers had even contributed from their own pockets to ensure such activities could take place, adding that the department was giving importance not only to curricular work but also to extracurricular activities.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the position-holding students.
School Leader (Town-II) Faiza Mazhar said that a sports event was also under way, which had continued for a month across Circle Dawoodzai-I, Chaghal Pora, Mathra-I and Mathra-II, and had now reached its final stage.
Teachers remarked that children from rural areas, despite limited facilities and resources, were proving their abilities and outperforming many private school students. Parents, teachers and local dignitaries attended the event in large numbers.
