PROVINCE REPORT

MARDAN: Senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader and chairman of the party’s Election Commission, Haji Abdul Aziz Khan, has expressed deep concern over the prevailing political situation in the country and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that Pakistan, particularly the province, is facing serious economic and administrative crises while political parties remain engaged in confrontation and political theatrics.
In a statement, he said the war of words and blame game between the federal and provincial governments had pushed the people’s real problems, including inflation, unemployment and deteriorating law and order, into the background.
He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Mardan district, were waiting for basic amenities and economic relief. Political leadership, he added, should rise above personal egos and political interests and work for public welfare in the assemblies.
Haji Abdul Aziz said the ANP had always stood for supremacy of the Constitution, democracy and the rule of law, adding that the party condemned all forms of political confrontation that could undermine the country’s economic stability and peace.

He urged all political stakeholders to end their differences and adopt the path of dialogue and mutual understanding to help steer the country out of the crises it was facing.
