ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan, through the Cabinet Secretariat’s Establishment Division, has issued an official notification regarding a key administrative appointment in the civil service.

According to the notification, Mr. Arshad Majeed Mohmand, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), who was currently serving as Special Secretary in the Power Division, has been transferred and posted as Chief Secretary, Government of Gilgit-Baltistan. The appointment has been made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, and will take effect immediately, remaining in force until further orders.

The Chief Secretary position is the highest-ranking administrative post in the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and plays a pivotal role in policy implementation, coordination among departments, and ensuring effective governance across the region. The appointment reflects the government’s continued efforts to strengthen administrative leadership and improve institutional efficiency in the region.

The notification has been formally issued by M. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Pakistan, Establishment Division.

The development is part of routine administrative adjustments undertaken by the federal government to ensure effective functioning of public sector institutions and maintain continuity in governance across departments and regions.
