Under the supervision of the District Health Officer, the District Headquarters Hospital Khar has run out of Leishmania injections, leaving patients in distress and agony. Without timely injections, treatment of this debilitating disease is impossible. Patients, however, are now compelled to purchase the costly injections from private markets—an expense beyond the reach of ordinary citizens.
Public and social circles have voiced grave concern over the situation, warning that if urgent steps are not taken, the disease could spread rapidly. Such a development, they cautioned, would not only increase the suffering of patients but also pose serious risks to public health across the region. They stressed that negligence in this matter could trigger a major humanitarian crisis.
Civil society activists, community representatives, and relatives of affected patients have urged the health authorities to take immediate notice and ensure the urgent supply of Leishmania injections to DHQ Hospital Khar, providing much-needed relief to poor and vulnerable patients.
