Peshawar: The Merged Tribal Districts Under-16 Games 2026 are in full swing across multiple venues in Peshawar, featuring competitions in basketball, cricket, volleyball, football, and hockey. Young athletes from various districts delivered strong performances, claiming notable victories.

In basketball at Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar, Bajaur defeated Orakzai 30-15, SD Kohat overcame Mohmand 36-26, and North Waziristan edged Khyber 27-21. Other results included South Waziristan (Upper) defeating South Waziristan (Lower) 26-2 and SD Tank beating SD Dera Ismail Khan 8-0.

Cricket matches at Hayatabad Sports Complex Peshawar saw Bajaur triumph over South Waziristan (Upper) by 35 runs, Orakzai clinch SD Kohat by one wicket, and SD Lucky defeat SD Tank by 43 runs.

In volleyball at PSB Gymnasium Hall, Mohmand, Orakzai, North Waziristan, Khyber, SD Tank, and SD Bannu all recorded victories in tightly contested matches.

Football fixtures at Tahmas Khan Football Ground featured SD Kohat defeating SD Dera Ismail Khan 4-0, Bajaur overcoming Orakzai 1-0, and Kurram edging South Waziristan (Lower) 4-3.

Hockey matches at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium highlighted SD Tank, SD Bannu, Bajaur, Khyber, South Waziristan (Lower), and Orakzai as winners, with Bajaur defeating Kurram 6-0 and Orakzai narrowly beating SD Kohat 6-5 in an intense encounter.

The opening ceremonies and matches were attended by Director Sports Merged Districts Umar Arshad Khan, Deputy Directors, Chief Coaches, and other dignitaries, celebrating the talent and dedication of the region’s youth athletes.
