PESHAWAR: In a continued effort to provide essential healthcare services at the grassroots level, the Cantonment Board Peshawar(CBP), under the directives of the Director General, Military Lands and Cantonments, successfully organized its seventh free medical camp on September 11, 2025, at Khyber Super Market, Bara Road.

The camp was held under the supervision of the Cantonment General Hospital and remained operational from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A total of 82 patients received free medical checkups, with several referred to the Cantonment General Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment.

Despite limited resources, the CBP ensured that all medical services were provided free of cost. Notably, the initiative extended beyond cantonment residents, allowing citizens from surrounding urban areas to avail the facility without restriction — a reflection of CBP’s inclusive public health approach.

Services offered at the camp included:

* Blood sugar testing for 30 patients
* Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests for 60 individuals
* Initial diagnosis of diabetes in 2 patients and high blood pressure in another 2
* 15 patients identified with respiratory illnesses
* 8 with dermatological issues, 8 with gastric problems, and 13 reporting muscular and skeletal complaints
* 5 patients with conjunctivitis, 12 with diarrhea, and 13 suffering from general weakness

The Cantonment Executive Officer of CBP, Ch Babar Hussain, visited the site and appreciated the performance of the medical staff. Emphasizing CBP’s commitment to public welfare, he stated:

> “Our mission is to ensure that no individual is deprived of basic healthcare. Despite our resource constraints, we are fulfilling this responsibility with utmost dedication.”

Local residents expressed appreciation for the initiative. A senior citizen remarked:

> “These camps are a much-needed alternative to expensive private hospitals. If this continues, thousands will benefit in the long term.”

This was the seventh medical camp organized as part of the “Sehat Aap Ki Dehleez Par” (Health at Your Doorstep) campaign. Previous camps have been held at Jinnah Park, DOC Park, the Parsi Cemetery, and other locations within the cantonment area. Collectively, these camps have served hundreds of citizens over the past months.

CBP has confirmed that the next medical camp will soon be organized in another ward of the Cantt area.

Beyond offering immediate relief through free consultations and medicines, these camps have become an important mechanism for early disease detection and patient education. At a time when healthcare access remains a challenge for many, initiatives like these offer a vital lifeline.

The Peshawar Cantonment Board continues to demonstrate that meaningful public service can be delivered even within limited means through commitment, efficient management, and a people-first approach.
