Peshawar: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah chaired an important weekly review meeting today to assess the overall governance situation and progress on key administrative matters across the province. The meeting brought together secretaries and senior officers from multiple departments, who presented detailed briefings on their respective performance indicators, ongoing development initiatives, and pending tasks.
During the session, the Chief Secretary reviewed the status of major public service delivery mechanisms, including health, education, revenue, finance, and law and order. He stressed the need for ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency at all levels of government to meet the expectations of the public. Shahab Ali Shah directed departments to remove bottlenecks affecting service delivery and to adopt a proactive approach in resolving citizens’ issues without unnecessary delay.
Emphasizing the importance of timely decision-making, he instructed officers to fast-track development projects and ensure that all departmental activities are aligned with the provincial government’s broader reform agenda. He also highlighted the significance of technology-driven governance tools to enhance monitoring, data accuracy, and interdepartmental coordination.
The Chief Secretary reiterated that improving governance remains a top priority and that continuous weekly reviews are essential for maintaining momentum. He urged all departments to strictly adhere to the deadlines given for ongoing initiatives and to submit progress reports regularly.
He further noted that effective governance is directly linked to the well-being of citizens, and therefore, every officer must fulfill their responsibilities with commitment and professionalism. The meeting concluded with directives aimed at strengthening institutional performance, improving public facilitation mechanisms, and ensuring the smooth functioning of administrative affairs throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
