The opening ceremony of the CVN Cricket Cup 2025 was held with great enthusiasm at the Bajaur Sports Stadium, marking a vibrant beginning to a tournament that blends sportsmanship, culture, and a spirit of philanthropy. The event featured an impressive march past, the dignified unveiling of the tournament trophy, and inspiring speeches from notable guests—making it a truly memorable occasion.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shahid Rafiq Gandapur, Assistant Commissioner Khar Dr. Sadiq Ali, the District Sports Officer, former Member of National Assembly Gul Zafar Khan, former Member of Provincial Assembly Siraj Khan, Tehsil Chairman, and renowned social media star and singer Afser Afghan. A large number of players and enthusiastic spectators also participated in the celebration.

Addressing the ceremony, Sirajuddin Khan, former MPA, applauded the efforts behind the tournament and announced several generous cash prizes:
PKR 500,000 for the organizing committee
PKR 500,000 for orphaned children under CVN’s care
PKR 200,000 for the winning team
PKR 100,000 each for the runner-up team and the ‘Man of the Tournament’
A special highlight of the ceremony was the live performance by Afser Afghan, whose melodious voice captivated the audience and added a cultural touch to the sports event. The crowd responded with loud applause and appreciation.
During the ceremony, speakers also highlighted CVN’s ongoing welfare mission, which supports orphans, widows, and underprivileged individuals. They praised the initiative, emphasizing that such events not only promote healthy recreational activities among youth but also encourage social harmony and community engagement.
In his closing remarks, CVN’s Patron-in-Chief, Ataullah Durrani, extended heartfelt thanks to all the guests and participants, calling the tournament a welcome and positive step for the people of Bajaur.
