Dera Ismail Khan: Return of illegal Afghan citizens, emergency meeting chaired by Commissioner Dera Division, according to details, in light of the instructions of the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Commissioner Dera Division Daud Khan chaired an emergency meeting in his office regarding the return of illegal Afghan citizens. The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Dera Region Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Dera Abdul Nasir Khan and District Police Officer Dera Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada. The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements made for the identification, registration and honorable return of illegally residing Afghan citizens. The concerned officers briefed the Commissioner on the progress made so far, the challenges faced and the security arrangements. The Commissioner Dera directed that all institutions should work in cooperation to ensure effective and transparent implementation of the government policy. The Commissioner clarified that action against illegal residents will be taken in accordance with the law, while women, children and sick people should be treated on the basis of humane sympathy. He directed the security agencies to make foolproof security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the progress would be reviewed on a daily basis and the concerned departments would submit their reports in a timely manner. The district administration expressed its determination that the process of return of illegal Afghan nationals would be completed peacefully, orderly and within the ambit of law as per the instructions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
