MARDAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmad on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee at the conference room of his office, focusing on the overall security environment in the region and preparations for upcoming Independence day/Maaraka e Haq celebrations. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mardan Wasif Rahman, DC Swabi Nasrullah Khan, District Police Officer Mardan Zahoor Baber Afridi, and senior officers from various security and law enforcement agencies. The meeting threadbarely discussed the prevailing law and order situation, with particular emphasis on ensuring foolproof security for the Independence Day and Maaraka-e-Haq events scheduled across the division. Commissioner Nisar Ahmad directed all departments to remain on high alert, coordinate closely, and take proactive steps to safeguard public gatherings and ceremonies. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing process of Afghan refugee repatriation. The relevant authorities briefed the participants on measures already undertaken, logistical arrangements, and challenges in facilitating the process in line with government directives. Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to public safety, the commissioner stressed that security agencies must work in synergy to ensure peace and order during the national festives.
