PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah on Monday directed district administrations and relevant authorities to strictly enforce the provincial POL monitoring system in view of rising energy demands and evolving international developments affecting fuel markets.
Chairing the weekly review meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the demand and supply position of petroleum products across the province, and assessed their availability in line with the notified prices. He instructed Deputy Commissioners to conduct regular market inspections to ensure uninterrupted supply, prevent hoarding or overcharging, and promptly address public complaints.
The meeting also reviewed progress on several mega flagship projects being implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Officials briefed the forum on key initiatives including the Thandiani Tourism Project, Ganool Integrated Tourism Zone, Buyun Ski Resort Kalam, and Daraban Economic Zone. Updates were also shared on major infrastructure projects such as the Peshawar–D.I. Khan Motorway, Swat Motorway, Dir Motorway, the road linkage between Indus Highway (N-55) and Hakla–D.I. Khan Motorway, as well as initiatives related to electric vehicle charging stations and EV rickshaw and bus programmes. Progress on the Peshawar Revitalization Initiative was also reviewed.
The forum further examined a series of innovative governance and land revenue management interventions introduced by the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar office. These included digitization of Girdawari, development of Khasra-wise validation tables and Jadwal, e-audit of the e-registry system, and the scanning and digital audit of Mahafiz Khana land records.
The Chief Secretary appreciated these initiatives, observing that such reforms would enhance transparency, accuracy and public facilitation in land revenue administration. He directed the authorities to initiate work on the province-wide implementation and scaling up of these interventions.
He further instructed officers to develop standardized brochures and operational guidelines to serve as reference documents for replicating these reforms in other districts of the province. Administrative Secretaries, Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting both in person and via video link.
