PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accompanied by the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, reviewed the progress of the Settlement & Digitization of Land Record (SDLR) Project during a visit to the project’s office. Project Director Wasil Khan Khattak briefed the delegation on implementation progress, operational achievements, challenges and future plans.
The briefing highlighted that the flagship initiative has expanded to 40 approved tehsils, with GIS-based land surveys and digitization aimed at creating accurate, transparent and secure land records in the merged districts. The project is expected to improve public service delivery, reduce land disputes and strengthen land governance while supporting socio-economic development.
The Chief Secretary appreciated the efforts of the project team despite operational challenges, including security issues, boundary disputes and logistical constraints. He assured full administrative, institutional and financial support for the timely completion of the project, describing it as a major governance reform that would enhance land tenure security, attract investment and promote sustainable economic growth in the merged districts. The Senior Member, Board of Revenue, also emphasized continued coordination among government departments, district administrations, security agencies and local communities to ensure the project’s success.
