BANNU: In compliance with directives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Fahim chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for Eid al-Fitr. The meeting was attended by district administration Officers and officials, police, Rescue 1122, health authorities, TMA representatives, and other concerned departments.
During the session, detailed discussions were held on ensuring law and order, traffic management, and public amenities for the festival. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that all arrangements at Eidgahs, mosques, and Imambargahs be completed before March 18 to avoid any inconvenience to worshippers.Police were directed to remain vigilant to maintain peace, while Rescue 1122 was asked to stay prepared for any emergencies.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued directives to ban aerial firing and use of firecrackers, and to manage traffic and parking efficiently.He further ordered impoundment of motorcycles involved in one wheeling and directed fare rates for passenger vehicles to be fixed based on ground realities, with strict enforcement.
The meeting also decided on joint actions with the Halal Food Authority to monitor prices, quality, and shelf life of food items. Safety measures at tourist spots, mandatory fitness certificates for swings and recreational equipment in parks, and health facility readiness were emphasized.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed C&W authorities to repair and maintain roads and bridges, and directed all district officials to disseminate audio, video, and infestation messages to raise public awareness. He concluded by reaffirming that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to safeguard lives and property and ensure flawless arrangements for Eid al-Fitr.
