NOWSHERA: Sports Gala 2026 was formally inaugurated at Shuhada-e-Army Public School University of Technology, Nowshera, in a vibrant opening ceremony attended by the Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Mr. Irfan Ullah Mehsud, as Chief Guest. The ceremony was also graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ms. Sara Tawab and District Sports Officer Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan.
The event commenced with a warm welcome, followed by a departmental flag march, recitation from the Holy Quran, and the national anthem. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saeed Badshah addressed the gathering, underscoring the critical role of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a healthy lifestyle among students.
The Sports Oath was administered, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to fairness, integrity, and sportsmanship. In his keynote address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of sports and constructive activities in youth development, character building, unity, and fostering healthy competition. The inauguration was officially marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The program featured engaging activities, including a tug-of-war contest between faculty and administrative staff, demonstrating coordination and camaraderie. Student teams from various departments also participated in tug-of-war matches, generating enthusiasm and competitive spirit. A traditional Attan dance performance added cultural vibrancy to the occasion.
Sports Gala 2026 will continue from February 10 to February 16, 2026, featuring competitions in cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and table tennis, with active participation from students across departments. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the presentation of honorary shields to the distinguished guests in recognition of their support and presence.
