Bajaur: Deputy Inspector General of Police Malakand Division, Syed Fida Hassan Shah, conducted a one-day visit to Bajaur, where he thoroughly reviewed the district’s security situation, crime prevention measures, and overall police performance. He also issued directives to further strengthen the enforcement of law. District Police Officer Bajaur, Muhammad Khalid, accompanied him during the visit.
At the outset, the DIG visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid floral wreaths, and paid tribute to the sacrifices of police martyrs, stating that their contributions are fundamental to maintaining peace in society. Later, he chaired a crime review meeting at the Police Office, where a detailed assessment of the overall security situation, crime rate, and ongoing operations across the district was conducted. The DPO Bajaur briefed him on actions against criminal elements, snap-checking, and intelligence-based operations, expressing that these efforts are being carried out consistently. The DIG expressed satisfaction over the performance.
The DIG Malakand issued clear instructions to ensure the arrest of proclaimed offenders, intensify action against drug traffickers, and adopt a comprehensive strategy to dismantle criminal networks. He emphasized strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, reaching major dealers, and enhancing security around educational institutions, (markets), and sensitive locations to safeguard the youth from this menace.
During the visit, he also toured the CTD office, where he was briefed on recent terrorism incidents and preventive measures. The DIG directed officials to further strengthen intelligence sharing and adopt modern investigative techniques. He reiterated the commitment to utilize all available resources to eliminate terrorism.
Furthermore, the DIG distributed commendation certificates and cash rewards among police officers and personnel who demonstrated bravery in recent operations. He stated that encouraging personnel significantly improves their performance. He also inspected the Police Facilitation Center and stressed ensuring timely provision of services to the public.
At the conclusion of his visit, he planted a sapling under the spring tree plantation campaign, highlighting the importance of environmental protection and stating that collective efforts are essential for a cleaner environment.
