DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Dr. Fasih Shahab Khan, a renowned orthopedic surgeon from Dera Ismail Khan, provided timely medical assistance to a passenger who fell unconscious during Qatar Airways Flight QR-744 from Boston to Doha.
According to reports, a woman with a history of heart disease suddenly lost consciousness during the flight, causing concern among passengers. Dr. Fasih Shahab Khan, who was travelling with his family, immediately responded and administered first aid, helping stabilize the passenger until her condition improved.
Dr. Fasih Shahab Khan, son of noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. Shahabuddin, serves at Shahab Orthopedic and General Hospital in Peshawar, where he provides specialized orthopedic care alongside a team of medical experts.
This is not the first time Dr. Fasih has responded to an in-flight emergency. In 2024, while travelling to the United States to attend an orthopedic conference, he also assisted an American passenger who suffered a medical emergency, providing immediate treatment that helped improve the patient’s condition.
