MARDAN: In the blessed month of Ramadan, more than 400 deserving men and women received Ramadan food packages in Mardan under a welfare initiative organized by the Million Smile Foundation.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s renowned international cricketer Fakhar Zaman and Himayatullah Mayar, who participated as joint chief guests and personally distributed the food packages among the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Fakhar Zaman said that Ramadan is a month of compassion, sacrifice, and helping those in need. He urged well-off members of society to come forward and support underprivileged families during this holy month so that the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and social harmony can be strengthened. He also appreciated the foundation’s initiative, describing it as a commendable effort and a true example of serving humanity.
Addressing the ceremony, Mayor Himayatullah Mayar stated that helping deserving families during Ramadan is both a social and religious responsibility. He praised the efforts of the Million Smile Foundation and said that such welfare activities promote a sense of responsibility and mutual cooperation in society. He also appealed to philanthropists to step forward and play their role in supporting needy individuals.
At the end of the event, Tanveer Tila, Focal Person and Senior Program Manager of the Million Smile Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, expressed gratitude to the chief guests, dignitaries, and other participants. He said the foundation aims to support underprivileged families so they can access essential food items during Ramadan.
Several local personalities and social workers were also present at the event. The beneficiaries appreciated the welfare initiative and thanked the organizers and chief guests for their support.
