KOHAT: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah and the Regional Police Officer Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat have hosted a graceful farewell dinner in honour of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 9-Div Kohat Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti and Colonel Staff Colonel Waseem, at the Commissioner House Kohat, last night.
The event was attended by the senior officers of the Pak Army, Police, civil administration and other security forces.
Commissioner Kohat Mr. Shah praised the GOC and his team’s decisive role in restoring peace in the Tribal District Kurram, executing the Kohat Peace Accord, strengthening inter-agency coordination and earning public trust. He said, their absence would deeply be felt for a long time.
Regional Police Officer Mr. Marwat commended the GOC’s leadership, citing unprecedented police–army cooperation, timely actions and courageous decisions that ended the shadow of terrorism and restored a sense of security.
Reciprocating the same spirit, Major General Bhatti called his time in Kohat “a precious chapter” of his career, attributing peace achievements to the teamwork and public support. Colonel Waseem described the region as “like home,” lauding the people’s courage and sacrifice.
The officers received standing ovations, commemorative shields, and heartfelt prayers as the ceremony concluded with best wishes for their future assignments.
