DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Shah Fahad Ansari, Advocate Supreme Court and vice-president of the High Court Bar Association, Dera Ismail Khan, has paid tribute to senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader and prominent lawyer Farooq Hamid Naek for his long political and legal career, describing his commitment to democratic and constitutional values as noteworthy.
In a statement, Mr Ansari said Mr Naek was among the country’s experienced legal and political figures who had devoted a substantial part of their professional life to the Constitution, rule of law and democratic institutions.
He said that Mr Naek had remained steadfast in his political affiliation and continued to stand by his principles during challenging periods in the country’s political history.
Mr Ansari said the senior PPP leader had rendered significant services in the legal profession and gained recognition for his experience in constitutional and legal matters. He added that Mr Naek’s legal and parliamentary experience was an important asset for the country’s constitutional and democratic system.
Referring to his political career, Mr Ansari said Mr Naek had maintained a long association with the Pakistan Peoples Party and had provided legal assistance in important cases involving the party’s leadership, earning a position of trust within the party.
He also acknowledged Mr Naek’s services as chairman of the Senate and federal minister for law and justice, saying his experience in politics and law could serve as an example for young lawyers and political workers.
“Political offices and positions may change with time, but a leader is ultimately judged by commitment to principles, ideological affiliation and steadfastness during difficult times,” Mr Ansari said, adding that Mr Naek’s long political career offered an example in this regard.
He said the PPP had played a significant role in the struggle for democracy, constitutional supremacy and public rights, and that senior leaders such as Mr Naek had contributed to that political and constitutional struggle.
Mr Ansari praised Mr Naek’s national, political and legal services and expressed the hope that he would continue contributing to the promotion of constitutionalism, the rule of law and democratic values.
