ISLAMABAD — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Headquarters has issued multiple notifications announcing a significant restructuring of its administrative setup. The changes include creation of new zones, re-designation of posts, and bifurcation of existing regions. According to the official notifications signed by Ali Akbar Shah, Director (HRM), the following decisions have been taken: The post of Additional Director General (Law) at FIA Headquarters has been abolished and re-designated as Additional Director General (Central), stationed in Lahore with jurisdiction over major divisions of Punjab. FIA North Region has been divided into North Region (Islamabad, Rawalpindi, KP and Gilgit-Baltistan) and Central Region (Punjab divisions with headquarters in Lahore). Hyderabad Zone has been bifurcated into Hyderabad Zone and Sukkur Zone, with Sukkur established as a new zonal headquarters. Islamabad Zone has been divided into Islamabad Zone and Gilgit-Baltistan Zone, with Gilgit designated as headquarters. The office of Director (Law/Operations) has been re-designated as Director Gilgit-Baltistan Zone. The post of Director Administration (ADG South Office) has been restructured as Director Sukkur Zone. The office of Director Law/Policy & Coordination has been renamed as Director Economic Crime Wing (ECW), which will handle Commercial Banking and Corporate Crime cases. The Performance & Internal Accountability Branch (PIAB) has been renamed Policy & Evaluation Branch. The post of Director IBMS has been re-designated as Director IBMS & IT, with IT operations and HRMIS project shifted under this office. The notifications state that these changes are effective immediately.
